CrasH's First Festival Ever, Animation, New Short Pieces, and A New Feature.

Looking for "The Divine Trilogy"?

Ok.  I've been out of action for about a year now, working hard on The Fury's "Story of the Sword."  And I've said that God-willing (literally), I'd be shooting "The Divine Trilogy" this year.  Well, it seems that God may not be willing for it to happen yet.  Not that He's warping the universe around us to prevent it.  I just have yet to finish the writing for it.  And we all know that writing is just the beginning.  Pre-production alone will probably take two months.  So, we'll still make the film (there is no way I won't short of God Himself telling me not to), but we're going to push it back a bit.  It'll be worth it.  But I won't leave you hanging.  Here's what we're going to be working on this year:

Animation Experimentation

As I mentioned over at my bar, I've taken a page from the Red Fury Entertainment playbook and begun experimenting with animation.  Take a look at the following two pieces to see what I've come up with so far.  Please keep in mind,
THESE ARE CONCEPT FILMS.  They're not meant to be the best stories or the best quality.  These are just for me to experiment with stop-motion animation, to get a feel for the tools and techniques of the style.  Having gotten a better grasp of what it takes to make these, rest assured I'll have higher quality projects with better writing and better production value coming out soon.  Most likely, you'll see these shorts as bonus featurettes just before each of our feature films.  Click the names to watch "A Day At The Office" and "Snap, Crackle, and Pop."

New Projects

Under Your Bed: The Fighting Game--That's right; those lovable toys from Under Your Bed are going to be starring in their own game.  Finally, YOU control their actions and determine their fates in a Mortal Kombat-esque fighting game, complete with finishers.  Look closely throughout the game too.  Since it's us, there's bound to be plenty of surprises.

House of Cards--Believe it or not, CrasH writing a book  I've started several in my life, but this one will go to completion.  It may find itself published.  It may not.  I may publish it online for free.  Maybe not.  This book is very personal and very important to me.  Keep your eyes and ears open for more.  So far, two chapters plus an introduction and preface are written plus I've outlined the whole thing.

The Bathroom Show--For those of you who don't know, I shot a pilot for a show way back in the day.  This is actually the project where the Fury and I really met each other and started working together for the first time.  It even pre-dates "Disputed."  Well, my co-host mentioned the show to me recently and we've decided to resurrect it in some form or another.  Stay tuned for details.

New Shorts

In addition to the animation and the festival entry, I've been throwing around ideas for a few new shorts.  Here's what we've got planned for this coming year:

Loading Screen Productions

"Charity, Responsibility" -- A bit more heavy-handed than anything I've made yet, this short tackles an issue that's probably not thought of that often in this country, but it's still something I feel strongly about, and therefore, I'll be making a film to express my feelings about it.

CAFRough III -- That's right.  After a year without one, CAFRough III will finally be produced and released.  We're going all the way and shooting the whole mini-series, perhaps shooting all of them this year, as one of our key actors for the second half of the mini-series has graduated and we need to get this thing in the can before he moves on to who knows where doing who knows what for who knows who.
Patrick is on his way to school.  However, when he makes a mistake when he stops for gas, only to be confronted by a killer feline and a moron with a cigarette.

CAFRough IV -- See above.  All I can say for certain about how far we'll get this year is I plan definitely to release CAFRough III and CAFRough IV this year (2006).
Patrick finally makes it to school...but, because it's him, we find his troubles are just beginning.

Let's wish The Fury well, as he'll be taking on the writing and directing for CAFRoughs III and IV.

Red Fury Entertainment

The Three R's --
Romance, Revenge, Regret.  How many of us haven't felt those three emotions, often simultaneously?  We almost used this one as our entry in the Film Festival.  That's how good this script is.  We chose not to use this one because The Fury wrote it, but is ineligible to enter, and I didn't want to win an award on his film.  He should win the award.

Choices -- "If you lost it all, then earned it back the hard way, would you risk it all again?"
This looks to be an awesome short film from RFE.  I'm not going to tell you any more about it right now, except that The Fury is exploring a new style in his direction on this project.

Features

Story of the Sword -- 'Nuff said.  It will be out this year.

The Late, Great CrasH & The Fury Parody -- That's right.  CrasH & The Fury aren't above laughing at ourselves.  You'll see characters and references from every film we've yet done as The Fury seeks revenge on CrasH for not acknowledging his contributions on a film that wins CrasH an award, fame, and fortune.  Oh yeah, this will be good.  If you don't like it and think we're being too egotistical, MAKE YOUR OWN MOVIE!

So, that's what we have planned for the year.  It's a lot, I know.  But it's so worth it.  If you want to help with ANY or ALL of these films, just tell us.
